LBCC Student Named to All-California Academic Team
Long Beach City College student Megan Wielt has been named to the All-California Academic Team.
Phi Theta Kappa (PTK) hosts the All-State Academic Team Program to recognize the top community college students at the state level. Two million students are enrolled in California’s 113 community colleges, and 93 of those students from all over the state were selected for the team this year.
Phi Theta Kappa judges at the national level select students based on grades, leadership and community service.
Wielt joined Phi Theta Kappa in May 2015, and she had a GPA of 3.918. She will receive a medallion and a certificate.
An awards luncheon, sponsored by The Community College League of California, will be held on March 23 in Sacramento.
LBCC’s Phi Theta Kappa chapter will host a reception in honor of Wielt and All-California Academic Team winners from 2015 through 2017. It will be held March 30 in Room T-1300 from 5 p.m. to 6 p.m.
The other All-California Academic Team members to be honored are Jordan Ewing, Carrie Fuhrer, Christine Fuller from 2016 and Patrick Gore, Nikita Tsvetkov and Dung Vo from 2015.
