Two LBCC Staff Members Selected for ACCCA Leadership Program

Long Beach City College’s Gene Durand, Associate Vice President of Human Resources, and Sheneui Weber, Chief Operating Officer of the College’s economic and workforce development initiatives, have been selected from a competitive field of candidates to participate in the Admin 201: Transformational Leadership Program, a new summer academy of the Association of California Community College Administrators (ACCCA). 

Durand and Weber are among 37 participants in the inaugural class of this newly developed program, which was designed to identify and nurture administrative talent in the California community college system. ACCCA has named this group as future leaders who will be called upon to implement the innovative changes necessary to improve student success. 

Admin 201 will be at Sierra College in Northern California later this summer. The program’s curriculum pairs leadership theory and self-assessment with strategies for implementing institutional change. It is funded by a grant from the California Community College’s Chancellor’s Office.
